Behind the Scenes: A Day in the Life of Our In-Home Dog Boarding, Training & Grooming Business


If you’ve ever wondered what really goes on behind the scenes at an in-home dog boarding, training, and grooming service—this one’s for you!


While our clients see the happy tail wags, clean coats, and well-mannered pups at pick-up time, there’s a whole lot of thoughtful care and attention that goes into every single day to keep your pets safe, clean, and comfortable. Here’s a peek into how we make your dog’s stay feel like a second home.



Clean Home = Happy Pups



Hygiene is everything in our line of work—not just for appearances, but for health and peace of mind.


We clean and sanitize all pet areas daily (and spot-clean constantly throughout the day). This includes:


  • Washing food and water bowls after every meal

  • Disinfecting crates, playpens, and bedding

  • Vacuuming and mopping floors to remove fur, dirt, and any little accidents

  • Washing grooming tools between each dog to avoid cross-contamination



We also use pet-safe, non-toxic cleaning products. If we wouldn’t use it around our own pets, we won’t use it around yours.



Comfort is in the Details



Each dog has different needs and preferences—and we notice them all.


Some like to curl up in a cozy bed, others prefer laying in the sun. We tailor their experience as much as possible:


  • Soothing music or white noise for anxious pups

  • Blankets and beds washed frequently and rotated for freshness

  • Climate-controlled rooms for comfort, no matter the season

  • One-on-one time, whether that’s snuggles, walks, or quiet training sessions



Your dog isn’t just another booking here. They’re treated like family.



Calm, Kind Grooming Experiences



We know grooming can be stressful for some pets. That’s why we go the extra mile to create a calm, positive experience:


  • Gentle handling and low-stress techniques

  • Breaks when needed—this isn’t a race

  • Familiar scents and soft towels

  • Plenty of praise, treats, and reassurance



Because we work with a limited number of pets at a time, we can be patient and flexible, meeting each dog where they are.



Training with Love and Structure



Training sessions are short, consistent, and always focused on building trust. Whether it’s basic manners or behavior modification, we use:


  • Positive reinforcement

  • Real-life scenarios (because this is their real-life home environment!)

  • Clear communication and repetition

  • And of course—lots of treats and encouragement
